The main stream media seems to have a knack for getting things wrong. This election cycle they keep wanting to push the idea that if Republicans lose, it is because conservatives will be angry with the GOP over not being tougher on issues like immigration. This despite poll after poll showing the vast majority of Americans, and even the majority of Republicans, favor a comprehensive approach similar to President Bush’s proposal.

But this poll from CNN is reinforcement for what I’ve long suspected, that the number of people upset over how huge and intrusive our government has become at the hands of the GOP is much bigger than has been previously reported. I’m no demographer, but I know I’m not the only one voting Democratic this year because divided government may be our only current means of slowing down our decay into authoritarianism ..
